Rundgänge über die ART COLOGNE 2012 Walking tours

Unter dem Label ARTtour führt der Museumsdienst Köln nun auch über die älteste aller Kunstmessen: die ART COLOGNE. Auf diesem lebendigen Markt begegnet der Besucher allem, was den Kunsthandel heute ausmacht: Klassische Moderne, Nachkriegskunst bis hin zur aktuellen Avantgarde. Im Vordergrund der ARTtour steht auch die Begegnung mit den Machern: den Galeristen. In Gesprächen und Diskussionen mit ihnen, werden Mechanismen und Prozesse, Strategien und Hintergründe klar.

Museumsdienst Köln is taking over the tours of this year’s ART COLOGNE trade fair and calling them ARTtour. With a team of well-trained cultural experts who have been sharing their knowledge about the museums’ permanent collections and exhibitions for many years now, the Cologne institute will be continuing the successful partnership with Koelnmesse. In addition to learning interesting facts and background information about the art on display, there will also be the opportunity to engage in discussion with gallery owners. The “up and down” nature of the art market plays just as important a role as the placement of certain objects in their cultural historical context.
